clinical trauma-informed yoga referrals

supporting your clients' trauma recovery through evidence-based movement practice

Trauma-informed yoga recognises the profound connection between nervous system regulation and embodied experience. This approach prioritises:

  • Choice over instruction - every movement is an invitation, not a directive

  • Interoception over achievement - internal awareness rather than external form

  • Safety and predictability - consistent structure and clear boundaries

  • Agency and autonomy - the person remains in control of the practice.

This work supports clients in rebuilding their relationship with their bodies, developing self-regulation skills, and strengthening the mind-body connection that trauma often disrupts.

the TCTSY difference

TCTSY is the world's only scientifically validated trauma-sensitive yoga model, researched by Bessel van der Kolk and featured in The Body Keeps the Score.

Recent research showed TCTSY was equally effective at reducing PTSD symptoms as cognitive processing therapy, with higher completion rates (68.1% vs 54.2%).

Studies demonstrate 45% improvement in body connection, 35% reduction in anxiety symptoms, and significant benefits for emotional regulation, depression, and self-regulation.

We facilitate flexibly and aren't slavish to any particular approach - firm believers in an adaptive, person-centred practice is a trauma-informed one.
